Sr. Underwriter - Northeast Region

Description

We are looking for a Sr. Underwriter I to join our team in the Northeast Region!

Determines acceptability, conditions and pricing of specific property & casualty (P&C) insurance risks and agrees on coverage within regulatory requirements, corporate product offerings and designated authority level.

• Underwrites large, complex property & casualty (P&C) insurance risks.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of loss experience and business conditions of key accounts as well as loss trends and any relevant legal or economic factors regarding the property & casualty business.
• Participates on a team of underwriters and other staff to meet the property & casualty insurance and service needs of large multi-product customers.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all products, services, priorities and target markets in the property & casualty line of business or insurance segment.
• Assist in the training and development of coworkers as directed by management.
• May accompany Marketing representative on appointments in assigned territory and industry events.
• May develop and maintain relationships with agency representatives.
• May negotiate new and renewal business in partnership with Marketing to drive profitable growth.
• May support profit improvement initiatives in partnership with Marketing Department.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
• 6+ years of commercial human services/social services/package underwriting experience as defined by division.
• CPCU and/or AU designations preferred.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to be detail oriented in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel in assigned geographic territory on agency calls.
• Knowledge of forms and coverages.
