About the RoleNorris McLaughlin, P.A. is seeking a talented Litigation Associate with 4–6 years of experience in personal injury and liability defense to join our growing New Jersey Litigation Group. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, hands‑on litigation experience, and a supportive environment that values work‑life balance.
You will handle a diverse caseload with a strong focus on Tort Claims Act defense and §1983 Civil Rights litigation, working closely with public entities, medical providers, and expert witnesses. Our associates enjoy direct client contact, autonomy, and the chance to develop as courtroom advocates.
Key Responsibilities- Defending public entities in Tort Claim matters and §1983 Civil Rights litigation.
- Drafting and responding to discovery
- Conducting legal research and preparing motions
- Taking and defending depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
- Appearing in state and federal courts
- Working closely with medical providers and expert witnesses
- Managing multiple cases and deadlines with autonomy
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- 4–6 years of experience, preferably in personal injury/liability defense
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience working with medical records and experts
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar (required)
- Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently and independently
