Responsibilities
- Manage daily import and export shipments across all modes (ocean, air, ground, parcel)
- Coordinate bookings with freight forwarders, Customs Brokers, carriers, and logistics service providers
- Track shipments end-to-end and ensure timely movement and delivery
- Serve as the primary liaison between suppliers, logistics providers, internal stakeholders, and customers
- Communicate shipping requirements and instructions to international suppliers
- Prepare, review, and manage all required international shipping documentation
- Ensure compliance with all applicable import/export regulations
- Negotiate rates and service agreements across air, ocean, and ground transportation
- Troubleshoot shipment delays, customs holds, and documentation issues
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of experience in import/export logistics operations
- Experience in a small or mid-sized operation with hands‑on responsibility strongly preferred
- Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies
- Strong knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations (CBP, FDA, USDA, etc.)
- HTS classification, valuation, and country of origin rules
- Incoterms
- Customs entry processes and duty programs
- AES filing, ISF requirements
- Free Trade Agreements
- Hazardous materials regulations (49 CFR, IATA, IMDG) preferred
