Global Strategic Marketing Manager – Personal CareAs a Global Strategic Marketing Manager, you will leverage industry drivers and Nouryon’s capabilities to develop a compelling vision for the future of Nouryon’s personal care business. You will lead the overall strategic marketing of the segment, co‑own the personal care innovation portfolio, drive stage‑gate diligence, and support M&A activities essential for the segment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a compelling global business strategy and strategic marketing plan for the global personal care market.
- Translate global strategy into actionable regional and segment‑level initiatives, working closely with regional market managers, sales, product management, R&D, and supply chain.
- Create and support long‑range planning.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis.
- Develop go‑to‑market strategies and pricing logic for new applications and products; develop and monitor KPIs, market share, and performance versus plan.
- Develop thorough launch packages for new products, including promotional materials, availability of samples, regulatory actions, and price guidelines.
- Track execution of strategic initiatives and key growth projects.
- Monitor competitive, customer, and market developments and adjust strategic initiatives accordingly in a timely manner.
- Lead a global cross‑functional team that shares regional market insights and ensures overall alignment.
- Act as the marketing lead for strategic accounts to enable account‑specific strategies and growth.
- Interact and build relationships with participants across the value chain to understand issues and identify opportunities.
- Partner and liaise with relevant industry consortiums.
- Attend trade shows and industry conferences and represent the company at select interviews and presentations.
- Support trade shows, conferences, and digital marketing initiatives.
- Support the Global Marketing Director as needed for various initiatives and reviews.
- Develop and maintain a robust innovation project portfolio; prioritize and select new projects and encourage submission of new product ideas from all functions.
- Lead and support innovation projects by providing and updating the business case and launch plan; coordinate product launches, campaigns, and technical communications.
- Conduct extensive voice‑of‑customer work and, in collaboration with R&D, define customer needs, applications, and formulation opportunities.
- Develop and refine business cases for innovation projects, including concept statement development, market definition, and economic modeling; create multi‑generational product/application plans; advance projects through stage‑gate reviews.
- Develop value propositions for new and existing applications, products, and sub‑segments.
- Interface with regional marketing, product management, sales, and business leadership.
- Prepare presentations for leadership reviews, gate meetings, and strategy updates.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of marketing processes and tools.
- Serve as an informal global ambassador of Nouryon’s values, behaviors, and company brand.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or an engineering‑related discipline (MBA desirable).
- 10+ years of relevant strategic segment/marketing experience.
- 2+ years of experience in an internal strategy group or at a top‑tier strategy consulting firm.
- Extensive knowledge of the personal care market.
- Experience in sales (desirable).
- Fluency in English (required); skills in other relevant languages are a plus.
- Experience in the chemicals industry.
- Comfort working across global cultures.
