Job Description

The Clinical Sciences and Operations Senior Project Leader (CSO SR. PL) directs, supervises and manages full Clinical Science & Operations (CSO) platform service projects to the customer’s satisfaction and company success and is accountable for ensuring quality deliverables on time and within budget.

The CSO SR. PL is expected to effectively lead large complicated program development and/or multiple programs simultaneously with minimal guidance.

The CSO SR. PL is the main partner and interlocutor for the platform with its customers and the teams within the platform.

Accountable for ensuring deliverables via effective account, program, project management and leadership skills that optimize, integrate and utilize CSO resources and competencies.

Provides operational input into the clinical strategy and presents the best operational strategy for successful project conduct, contributing to outsourcing strategy definition.

Ensures reliable performance and productivity by leading and coordinating all platform expertise and services for allocated projects/programs and is accountable to both the customer and platform for project deliverables, including timelines, quality and budget.

Main interface with other platforms, units for the project and enabling functions. Mentors others and contributes to process improvement and operational process implementation and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • CSO’s primary contact with customers for assigned projects/programs.
  • Maintain communication channels and reporting schedules.
  • Provide operational strategy input and adapt operational plans with all applicable CSO functions.
  • Build strong customer relationships and credible service within the platform.
  • Develop and negotiate study/program budgets, timelines and expectations.
  • Financial oversight of the project/program and re‑negotiation as required.
  • Routine reporting of project status to the customer.
  • Assess project impact on the platform and ensure study/program performance meets CSO expectations.
  • Communicate clear project requirements to CSO functions and build study teams adapted to customer needs.
  • Set team goals, provide performance reviews, and lead CSO operational project team meetings.
  • Foster a business‑oriented, customer‑oriented atmosphere across functions.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement and risk management plans.
  • Lead development of phase transition plans and supervise project management information tracking.
  • Represent CSO when collaborating with other platforms and enabling functions.
  • Discuss vendor selection for outsourced programs and provide input on vendor usage.
  • Contribute to CSO business expansion and catalogue development.
  • Identify opportunities for improving organizational processes.
  • Mentor other CSO Project Leaders.
Knowledge and Skills
