The Sr Engineer, Helium Technical Management will support the substantial helium business s role will own and develop standard procedures, designs and support for the teams in the field. This role is critical in maintaining profitability through efficient use of our resources.

Responsibilities- Ensure adherence to required refurbishment and maintenance schedules and programs.
- Identify problems and troubleshoot issues with ISO’s at Messer sites and customer sites.
- Use ISO tracking and chassis tracking software systems at an expert level to improve management of asset fleets.
- Provide technical support for Messer transfill plant network in the USA.
- Implement and leverage best practices for helium movement throughout the plants.
- Advise on standard designs for installations for new transfills and customer sites.
- Support safe operations.
- Provide technical support for affiliate’s transfills, containers, and tube trailers to enable safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
- Provide technical support for Otis production location, particularly in areas related to ISO and Tube trailer filling, operation and maintenance.
- Approve technical procedures – sign off of procedures regarding operation of transfill sites and customer installations.
- Evaluate helium losses and recommend best practices to reduce losses throughout the supply chain.
- Technical skills in engineering.
- Understanding of P&’s and operating procedures.
- Technical understanding of cryogenic liquids and related equipment.
- Operational skills – experience in working in operations.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – preference for Mechanical or Chemical.
- 5–10 years of work experience post‑degree, ideally in a cryogenic related field.
- Experience in the industrial gas industry.
The salary range for this position is $110,000 – $146,000. Messer provides medical, dental, vision, short‑term disability, life insurance and paid time off as well as other voluntary benefits, such as long‑term disability in accordance with the terms and conditions of these Plans. Employees are eligible to enroll in Messer’s 401(k) Plan. Employees may be eligible to participate in the company’s bonus program.
