Job SummaryRN Clinical Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of clinical care delivery in the facility. Plans, coordinates and oversees the responsibilities and functions of the nursing departments in caring for all age patients.
Assists in setting and enacting appropriate standards of care. Directs nursing care within prevailing national and state standards of practice and the policies of the Center. Works closely with DON and assists in making decisions regarding staffing, hiring, counseling, projects and audits. In the event, the Administrator and or Clinical Director are out of the facility, responsibilities for center operations and day to day activities will be delegated to the RN Clinical Coordinator.
May have additional responsibilities designated by the Administrator, or Clinical Director.
Job SpecificationsGraduate of an approved school of nursing. Baccalaureate degree in nursing or related field preferred.
Currently licensed in the state of New Jersey. Basic life support certification required, advanced life support certification preferred.
Three years’ experience in OR setting and prior supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership and teaching capabilities. Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of position.
Job Requirements- Must be physically able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have broad understanding of the nursing care needs of the surgical and anesthesia specialties.
- Maintains professional conduct and appearance.
- Ability to develop relations with center administrators and teammates, to work well with physicians and physician groups providing recommendations to resolve issues, when necessary.
- Interact with patients, families, visitors, vendors, etc. must be in the manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, and respectful.
- Demonstrates emotional stability, self-motivation; and the ability to make independent decisions and to suggest alternative solutions to problems encountered.
Demonstrates ability to work as a team member and to communicate directly and professionally.
Must adhere to Center’s Code of Conduct Policy. Must be flexible, reliable, productive, patient-oriented, and self‑motivated. Portrays the Center and peers in positive light to others. Maintains professional conduct and appearance.
Job Responsibilities- Knows and adheres to, and enforces all policies of the Center.
- Supervises, evaluates and counsels nursing department personnel in direct areas.
- Assists Clinical Director/Administrator in establishing and interpreting standards, policies, procedures, goals and objectives for peri‑operative nursing care to accepted standards.
- Ability to set priorities.
- Works with the Clinical Director to prepare time schedules and provides for safe and adequate staff coverage in an economical manner.
- Participates in the orientation of all nursing/clinical department personnel.
- Makes rounds in all patient care areas and assists nursing staff in planning nursing care.
- Ensures provision of patient care daily in an organized and timely manner.
- Provides direct patient care in all clinical areas as needed, as a circulating/scrub nurse in the OR, Pre‑Op/PACU RN, and demonstrates necessary clinical competence.
- Responsible for ongoing accreditation programs in areas of quality improvement, risk management, infection control, facility and fire safety and staff education for the facility.
- Actively participates in all reporting procedures.
- Actively participates in appropriate committees and QAPI activities.
- Provide risk management support to the team to develop a seamless connection with clinical quality, risk management, and operational strategies.
- Demonstrates complete understanding of established emergency procedures for facility.
- Follows OSHA and other standards for protection against blood borne pathogens.
- Uses good body mechanics and aseptic technique.
