Position: Registered Nurse - Night House Supervisor - Bridgewater, New Jersey

Mission Hires is partnering with a large New Jersey healthcare organization to hire a seasoned Registered Nurse Night House Supervisor. This off-hours leadership role (6:45 pm–7:15 am, 36 hrs/week) with every other weekend coverage and on-call commitment serves as the clinical and operational point leader across the hospital—overseeing patient flow, staffing, resource allocation, emergency response, and policy compliance while collaborating with unit leaders and capacity teams to ensure safe, effective care.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the on-site clinical and operational leader during night shift, weekends, holidays, and while on call
  • Oversee hospital-wide patient flow: admissions, discharges, transfers, placement (IP/OBS/ambulatory), and bed utilization in collaboration with the capacity team
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and clinical resource support to nursing and allied health staff across units
  • Lead response to emergencies (codes, rapid responses), deploy staff/equipment/supplies, and act as Incident Command until senior leadership arrives
  • Round on units; partner with ED, nursing leadership, case management, infection control, and ancillary services to maintain operations and resolve issues
  • Communicate trends, complaints, and unusual occurrences to leadership; initiate follow-up and corrective actions as appropriate
  • Interpret, enforce, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory/accreditation standards (EMTALA, Joint Commission, State health department)
  • Support performance improvement initiatives, contribute to staff evaluations, competency assessments, and disciplinary processes with unit managers
  • Document and report operational status, staffing decisions, and significant events from the shift
  • Utilize Microsoft Office/Google Suite for communication, reporting, and coordination
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey
  • Associate’s degree in Nursing or diploma in Nursing; commitment to complete BSN within three years preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of recent clinical RN experience in a hospital setting with demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite; strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and lead across multiple departments/units during off-hours
  • Preferred:
    Familiarity with utilization review criteria, discharge planning, and case management
  • Preferred:
    Prior experience with bed control, patient throughput, and hospital operations on nights/weekends
Benefits

Salary: $112,000 - $150,000

$5/HR weekday night shift differential
$10/hr weekend night shift differential
