Half (.5) Graduate Assistant - Zemiology in Criminal Justice

The College of Graduate Studies coordinates all of BSU’s Graduate Assistantships. The half Graduate Assistant will work 10 hours per week and receive up to 15 credits of tuition and student fee waivers: 6 for fall, 6 for spring and 3 for summer.

Overview and Responsibilities This position will involve engaging with research related to the current scholarly projects. The assistant will work on three manuscripts and a paper project: the third book in a justice-as-love series, a text on theories of justice, and a content analysis of Martin Buber’s Ecstatic Confessions (1909/1996). Tasks include reading, organizing, drafting and editing scholarly work in zemiology.

Outcomes The assistant will develop stronger reading, writing, analysis, and editing skills applicable to many contexts and gain exposure to the emerging field of zemiology.

The assistant should possess advanced graduate-level reading, analysis, writing and editing skills. The candidate will be able to read primary and secondary works and summarize and analyze demanding philosophical, scientific and criminological texts.

Ability to read and write for extended periods; flexible work arrangements are accepted.
