The Therapeutic Education Manager (TEM) is a key field‑based member of the US Rare Blood Disorders Patient Services team. The TEM provides disease and product information and ongoing support to Cold Agglutinin Disease (CAD) patients. The TEM establishes and maintains a strong working relationship with infusion staff to provide education, ensuring a seamless infusion experience. The TEM is a subject matter expert on disease state, product, administration and services and works collaboratively with cross‑functional team members to facilitate timely and ongoing access to therapy.
TEM’s must also ensure full compliance with all corporate and industry policies and legal and regulatory requirements for all field activities.
- Educate infusion staff on disease, product, procurement, administration and support services in accordance with approved resources post prescription and/or shipment.
- Educate home health care providers to ensure they are well‑educated prior to treating prescribed patients with approved resources.
- Develop and maintain account plans to support ongoing infusion education, utilizing CRM to manage territory and record activities.
- Conduct educational programming with infusion staff utilizing approved resources.
- Engage with CAD patients to educate on disease and product using approved resources.
- Ensure the patient is well‑educated and does not face unnecessary financial barriers or site‑of‑care issues to therapy.
- Communicate any barriers to enrollment and therapy to the prescriber/office staff and seek to reduce overall cycle time for prescribed patient starts.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with other field‑based teams and case managers to support patient access, enrollment and appropriate adherence to prescribed therapy.
- Conduct branded and unbranded patient education programs (live and virtual) for CAD patients using approved resources.
- Support appropriate ongoing adherence to prescribed therapy.
- Identify opportunities to further support the CAD communities, including representing Recordati at local patient events.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient engagement within the CRM system.
- Act in full compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies including adverse events / pharmacovigilance responsibilities.
- Perform additional duties as may be assigned.
Preferred Experience
- BA/BS degree required. Nursing or clinical background required. An advanced degree is a plus.
- Previous commercial and/or clinical experience (hospital or home health) with IV infusion required.
- Three to five years of account management skills and/or patient education industry experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt to change and react constructively in a high‑energy and fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Experience with medical and pharmacy benefit products.
- Empathetic listening skills.
- Language:
English required, Spanish preferred.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to fly via commercial air carrier. This position is moderately sedentary but frequently requires standing, walking, using hands and arms, talking and hearing, and occasionally lifting and moving light to moderate weight up to 25 pounds.
Location- This position is field‑based with proximity to a major airport.
- Ability to travel up to 80% within a territory is required and travel to meetings, trainings, and programs as necessary. Additional travel will be required within the assigned geography.
- The position requires a valid driver’s license.
- This position is considered Exempt.
