The Sales Associate is a full-time, on-site role based in Bridgewater, NJ. In this position, the Sales Associate engages with customers on the showroom floor, actively listening to their needs and recommending appropriate bedding and sleep solutions. Daily responsibilities include explaining product features and benefits, guiding customers through pricing and promotions, and supporting them through the purchase process and after-sales questions.
The role involves maintaining a clean, inviting sales environment, ensuring displays and inventory are organized, and accurately processing transactions. The Sales Associate also collaborates with team members to meet individual and store sales goals, participates in product training, and follows company policies and procedures to deliver a consistent, customer-focused experience.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, listen actively, and communicate product information clearly.
- Sales and retail experience, including consultative selling, closing techniques, and working toward individual or team sales targets.
- Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) skills, with the ability to manage transactions, inventory checks, and customer records accurately.
- Ability to learn and retain detailed product knowledge, including mattress technologies, adjustable base features, and brand distinctions.
- Comfort working in an on-site retail environment, including standing for extended periods, moving product within safety guidelines, and maintaining showroom standards.
- Reliable time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and support peak sales periods.
- Professional, respectful demeanor and commitment to a gender-neutral, inclusive customer experience and workplace culture.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in retail, home goods, or furniture sales is beneficial.
