Designed to mirror the complexity of live cyber threats, the facility supports education, training, outreach, and community engagement for IT professionals, corporate teams, and cybersecurity enthusiasts.

Position Summary

The Cyber Range Operations and Events Coordinator manages day‑to‑day administration, event planning, and operational oversight of the Cyber Range. The coordinator collaborates with college leadership and the Vice President of IT to ensure the range is effectively utilized for education, training, and outreach.

Key responsibilities include planning and managing events, workforce courses, and custom cybersecurity programs; coordinating logistics; developing marketing plans; and ensuring a high‑quality experience for all users. Occasional evening and weekend availability is required; flexible scheduling and potential hybrid work arrangements may be considered.

Essential Duties

  • Manage daily operations including event scheduling, logistics, invoicing, billing, accounts receivable, range usage tracking, and maintenance contract administration.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to design and deliver a portfolio of Cyber Range services for nonprofits, businesses, municipalities, military organizations, and higher education institutions, including in‑person and virtual events such as tours, demonstrations, competitions, and professional development programs.
  • Assist with marketing efforts by creating marketing plans, managing direct email outreach, producing graphic materials and flyers, and supporting social media and digital promotion.
  • Provide day‑of event operational support, including A/V assistance, room setup, attendee management, speaker support, and troubleshooting non‑technical logistics.
  • Support financial and administrative operations by preparing and processing invoices, tracking accounts receivable, creating requisitions and purchase orders, coordinating payments to external consultants, and maintaining related financial records.
  • Support the Director in collecting and organizing data for Cyber Range reports, dashboards, and summaries related to activity, metrics, outcomes, and growth.
  • Work with university partners, community organizations, and industry stakeholders to expand outreach to underserved communities and broaden participation in cybersecurity education and workforce development.
  • Represent the Cyber Range at conferences, campus and community events, industry meetings, and professional forums to promote awareness and engagement.
  • Collaborate with BSU faculty and students to support cybersecurity teaching, learning, and engagement, including facilitating Cyber Range access for classes, student organizations, research projects, cyber competitions, and career exploration activities.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as directed in collaboration with the Director of Corporate, Professional, and Community Education, the Cyber Range Business Development Consultant, the Dean of the College of Continuing Studies, and the Chief Information Officer.
Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in event management, program coordination, marketing, communications, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating marketing plans, producing promotional materials, and managing digital or direct email marketing.
  • Experience with event scheduling systems, Hub Spot, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, and Zoom.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and problem‑solve in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Adaptability and the ability to learn and adopt new technologies as they emerge.
