THE STARTING PAY RANGE is $24.75 - $26.75 per hour; FULL PAY RANGE $24.75 - $42.05 per hour.
Pay is based on multiple factors including labor markets, education, work experience and certifications. ALL ABOUT ASSET PROTECTIONAssets Protection (AP) teams safeguard guests, team members and the brand. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing theft and fraud and ensuring product availability. They also build relationships with store leaders and public safety officials, including law enforcement.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE ATTAINED- Using surveillance and intelligence‑led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure while lowering shortage.
- Using Target’s video surveillance system to monitor guests and identify potential theft risks.
- Implementing Target’s Asset Protection practices to reduce and prevent shortage.
- Properly documenting cases.
- Identifying strategic resolutions of external theft and fraud and apprehending offenders.
- Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by delivering on commitments: greet guests warmly, assist them in finding what they need, resolve issues, and end every transaction with a thank you.
- Actively support teammates and assist in other areas while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Support store sales and guest service by ensuring product availability and preventing theft.
- Resolve theft with strong judgment and conduct apprehensions, strictly adhering to AP policies.
- Identify theft trends using technology, reporting, and surveillance tactics.
- Prevent theft by gathering intelligence and communicating important issues.
- Understand and use video systems to monitor theft activity.
- Respond to security incidents, submit documentation following AP policy.
- Promote a physical security and safety culture.
- Demonstrate inclusivity and create equitable experiences.
- Work safely, comply with safety policies, report hazards.
- Maintain relationships with public safety officials and law enforcement.
- Participate in legal proceedings when necessary.
- Other duties as required by business needs.

- Is open to a flexible schedule with varying hours, days or shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet state or local licensing/other legal requirements.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude.
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and use handheld scanners and technology equipment.
- Effective communication skills.
- Work independently and with a team.
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames.
- Climb up and down ladders.
- Apprehend subjects per company policy.
- Scan, handle and move merchandise safely, lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays); come to work on schedule and take required breaks.
- Work in varying temperatures, humidity and other conditions.
- Remain mobile for the duration of a shift.
