Work Hours

8 hour minimum work day with opportunity for overtime/OT pay and double pay on Sundays (infrequent) as project needs arise. Travel roughly 70%

Job Summary

Join Summit Drilling as a Driller's Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in supporting daily operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and client satisfaction. Reporting to the Driller, you'll assist in equipment maintenance, site preparation, and field tasks execution, contributing to a dynamic and supportive work environment.

Driller Assistant Role Responsibilities
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety programs and policies.
    • Participate in daily safety briefings and drills.
    • Properly use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Equipment Preparation and Maintenance:
    • Conduct daily checks and routine maintenance of drilling equipment.
    • Report equipment malfunctions or repair needs.
    • Manage tool inventory and assist in equipment setup.
  • Operational Support:
    • Assist in site setup, material handling, and waste management.
    • Support drilling process and data collection.
    • Maintain site cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Client Satisfaction and Communication:
    • Interact professionally with clients.
    • Update clients on project progress.
    • Address client questions and concerns promptly.
  • Data Collection and Reporting:
    • Assist in accurate data collection and reporting.
    • Maintain logs and reports of drilling activities.
  • Team Collaboration and Development:
    • Work cooperatively with the drilling team.
    • Seek feedback and participate in training.
  • Quality Control and Environmental Protection:
    • Monitor drilling operations for quality adherence.
    • Follow environmental protection policies.
  • Emergency Response:
    • Understand and follow emergency protocols.
    • Act quickly and effectively in emergencies.
  • Professional Development:
    • Participate in learning and development programs.

      Seek relevant certifications and licenses.
Driller Assistant Requirements
  • Previous experience in drilling or related field such as construction, hardscaping, landscaping, farming.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Safety-first mindset with commitment to quality.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Excellent physical condition.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Driller Assistant Preferences
  • CDL or relevant certifications.
  • Additional training in environmental science or related field.
