Engineering Assistant
The Engineering Assistant is involved in the engineering and administration of projects, in the Special Projects Division (SPD) or in other Business Unit departments. Essential Duties &
Responsibilities include:
assisting in obtaining and reviewing information and approvals for processing of shop drawings, product data and samples; assisting in managing other aspects of communication including submission and responses for Requests for Information (RFI's); assisting in preparing estimates for changes in the work including review of Change Order requests from subcontractors; studying contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure proper coordination and installation;
assisting in the maintenance and updating of contract documents, electronic web-based documents, and project logs; distributing information required for construction to appropriate parties; assisting engineering to ensure that materials and equipment are released for fabrication or manufacture in time to meet the construction schedule; and assisting in the preparation of final records for the project including close-out documents, Operations/Maintenance Manuals, etc.
Engineer
The Field Engineer position will be assigned to the field operations team and will assist in obtaining, evaluating, and coordinating all information needed to construct the project in accordance with the contract documents and to assure that the work meets all safety standards, is within schedule requirements, and is constructed to the highest level of quality possible. Essential Duties &
Responsibilities include:
performing line and grade work for building layout and control as required; assisting in the implementation of the site safety program as required and ensuring subcontractor compliance with Turner safety standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations; assisting in the maintenance of contract documents and electronic web-based documents for field operations; assisting in the preparation of Daily Construction Reports (DCR's);
reviewing all work as it is being placed to be sure it is accurate within accepted tolerances; reviewing contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure proper coordination and installation; and assisting in the preparation of project as-builts.
Note:
Depending on business need and location, you may be assigned to work at an active construction project site in one of our many specialties or in a department located at the main office.
The salary range for this position is estimated to be 72,000. USD annualized.

Qualifications:
- Two years of college education from accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction, or relevant education
- Building construction, engineering, or equivalent experience, preferred
- Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team
- Demonstrate initiative and desire to learn
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
- Proficient with computer applications, data entry, and Microsoft suite of applications
- Basic understanding of scheduling programs, desired.
