Basic Function:
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and continuously improving the Quality Management System (QMS) while providing technical leadership in quality assurance, process control, problem solving, and compliance activities. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Suppliers, and Customers to ensure products and processes consistently meet internal, customer, regulatory, and industry requirements.
The Quality Engineer serves as a key resource for quality improvement initiatives, statistical analysis, root cause investigations, corrective and preventive actions, and certification compliance.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 and applicable customer, regulatory, and industry requirements.
- Maintain quality records and documentation to demonstrate compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as an Internal Auditor and participate in audit planning, execution, corrective action follow-up, and compliance verification activities.
- Evaluate and monitor process capability, inspection methods, control plans, and sampling strategies to ensure effective process control.
- Perform statistical analysis of process and product data to identify trends, assess risks, and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
- Lead and support root cause investigations, corrective actions, and preventive actions related to quality concerns, process deviations, and customer complaints.
- Understand quality metrics and communicate performance results to plant leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing personnel regarding quality requirements, inspection methods, and process controls.
- Support qualification and validation activities associated with new products, processes, equipment, and customer requirements.
- Investigate customer returns, product nonconformances, and field performance issues; document findings and lead corrective action efforts.
- Support customer interactions including audits, pre-production reviews, quality meetings, third-party inspections, and onsite customer visits.
- Review, evaluate, and disposition nonconforming materials while ensuring compliance with established quality procedures.
- Lead cross-functional teams in problem-solving efforts utilizing structured quality methodologies.
- Support strategic quality initiatives and other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.
- Results-oriented with a strong commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and data-driven decision making.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Effective project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive sustainable improvements.
- 0-2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; recent engineering graduates are encouraged to apply.
