Chargehand Welder

Mactech are seeking experienced Chargehand Welder’s to support safe and high-quality site delivery at Hinkley Point C

• Supervise and coordinate welders on structural steel projects
• Carry out high-quality MMA (Stick) welding on carbon steel
• Interpret engineering drawings
• Ensure all welding work complies with site quality standards, inspection requirements, and project specifications
• Promote strict health & safety standards in line with site regulations

• Proven experience as a Chargehand or Lead Welder
• Strong background in MMA structural welding (carbon steel)
• Minimum of Level 2 Apprenticeship in Welding discipline or Level 2 Diploma in a welding discipline
• CCNSG Card
• Ability to read and interpret structural fabrication drawings
• Excellent understanding of site safety and quality compliance
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• The ability to pass a multi fillet MMA weld test

• Excellent rates, in line with the ECSA site agreement
• 10/4 rotation

• Basic Rate: £30.58 Days / £37.46 nights
• Overtime 1 £ 42.82
• Overtime 2 £ 55.05
• Bonus up to £3.06 per hour

• Lodge Allowance: £53.39/day (£373.73/week) – if eligible
• Periodic Travel:
  Return rail fare + travel time – if eligible
• Holidays 25 day + public holidays
