A-One Tools & Fixings operates from both Brighouse (A-One Business Park, 370 Bradford Rd) and Sheffield, with extended weekday hours and Saturday opening to support busy schedules.

The Workshop Engineer – Power Tool Repairs is a full-time, on-site role based at the Brighouse location. This role involves diagnosing faults, servicing, and repairing a wide variety of power tools and light machinery from leading brands, ensuring high safety and quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting equipment, carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs, performing routine maintenance, and completing accurate service reports and documentation.

The Workshop Engineer will liaise with customers and colleagues to explain findings, provide repair estimates, and advise on tool care and safe operation. The role also includes maintaining a clean and organized workshop, supporting warranty repair processes, and occasionally assisting with training and technical guidance for team members.

• Strong maintenance and repair skills for power tools, machinery, and workshop equipment, with practical experience in fault-finding and servicing.
• Experience working safely in workshops or similar technical environments, ideally with exposure to heavy or industrial equipment.
• Clear and professional communication skills for interacting with customers, suppliers, and team members, including explaining technical issues in accessible terms.
• Ability and willingness to support training and knowledge sharing within the team, helping others understand correct tool use and maintenance.
• Relevant technical or engineering background (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent in electrical/mechanical engineering or tool repair) is highly beneficial.
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple repair jobs and service records efficiently.
• Commitment to health and safety practices and adherence to manufacturer and company procedures.
• Previous experience in a power tool repair environment, warranty repair centre, or related field is an advantage.
