Position: CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Estimator I supports the sales and preconstruction teams by developing accurate cost estimates and proposals for precast concrete projects. This role collaborates with engineering, production, field, and vendor partners to ensure complete and competitive pricing. The Estimator I also supports project turnover by ensuring clear scope understanding and smooth information flow across departments after award.

Salary range $65,000-$80,000 a year. Based on location and experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Develop estimates for precast projects up to $2M in value.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare preliminary budgets for cost studies.
  • Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors and suppliers.
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, field, and sealants teams for estimating input.
  • Review bid documents, drawings, and specifications for scope development.
  • Prepare detailed estimates, proposals, sketches, and preliminary layouts.
  • Provide value engineering options to optimize cost, design, and constructability.
  • Support RFI development and respond to project clarifications as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of estimates, correspondence, and assumptions.
  • Participate in project turnover and kickoff meetings to support smooth handoff.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented and motivated individual who is interested in construction estimating and precast systems. They are analytical, organized
, and comfortable working with drawings, numbers, and project data to develop accurate pricing and proposals. This individual communicates effectively across teams, learns quickly, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment where deadlines and accuracy are critical to project success.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents and drawings.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel.
  • Basic understanding of precast construction methods and project flow.
  • Ability to learn estimating tools and construction software quickly.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Occasional visits to active plant and field locations are required based on operational needs.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required while in the plant and field.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate active plant and field environments as needed.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and safely move through industrial work areas.
  • May be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, and other standard industrial hazards.
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, and vibration.
