Quist Middle School, a 27J School located in Thornton, CO, is currently seeking a School Counselor to provide services to students. This is a full-time, or 1.0 FTE, position with benefits.

Responsibilities:

* Implement the district comprehensive counseling framework

* Provide quality counseling services including academic counseling and emotional counseling

* Counsel, teach and work with a diverse population

* Work with incoming students and teachers around conflict mediation, bullying, peer mentors, and leadership training

* Develop positive, appropriate relationships with parents, staff and students and solve conflicts in a positive way

* Participation in staff development activities, staff meetings, and assigned duties

Qualifications:

* Certification/Licensing as a School Counselor as required by Colorado Department of Education

* Master's degree in counseling or psychology

* 3-5 years experience as an high school counselor preferred

* An understanding of standards-based grading

* Knowledge of high school students' interests, needs, and abilities with a commitment and dedication to students and education

* Ability to work well with others

* Ability to meet the emotional and academic needs of all students
