Special Education Teacher in Brighton

Help make a real difference at an elementary school dedicated to serving students with significant support needs. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to work onsite with a team passionate about inclusive education in a well-resourced self-contained classroom for the  school year.

Youll play an essential role in delivering individualized instruction and fostering a supportive environment for students in Kindergarten and beyond. Supported by 2-3 experienced paraprofessionals, youll help develop curriculum, implement IEPs, and create a learning space where every child can thrive.

• Valid CDE Special Education Teacher licensure required.
• Previous experience working with students with significant support needs preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing IEPs.
• Commitment to differentiated instruction and fostering inclusive classroom engagement.
• Ability to effectively manage and lead para educators.
• Strong communication and collaborative abilities with multidisciplinary teams.

• Provide individualized and small-group special education instruction to a caseload of 6-13 Kindergarten through elementary-age students.
• Design and implement lesson plans in alignment with IEP goals.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and related service providers to optimize student outcomes.
• Maintain accurate student records and progress reports.
• Engage with families and guardians regarding student growth and strategies for support.

• Tuesday through Friday schedule, with Mondays off, supporting work-life balance.
• Consistent daytime hours (7:30 AM 4:30 PM, 34 hours/week).
• Work with a supportive, collaborative team in a caring school environment.
