Optical Network Manager

Optical Network Manager | Regional ISP | Up to $160,000/year

Our client, a growing regional Internet Service Provider, is looking for an experienced Optical Network Manager to lead the design, deployment, and performance of their optical transport network.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced optical networking professional to take on a leadership role, manage a technical team, and play a key part in expanding a regional ISP's fiber and transport infrastructure.

• Leading the design, deployment, and ongoing management of the optical transport network (DWDM/CWDM, ROADM, SONET/SDH)
• Managing and mentoring a team of optical/network engineers
• Overseeing network capacity planning, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting for optical systems
• Driving network expansion and upgrade projects, including vendor and equipment evaluation
• Ensuring network reliability, redundancy, and adherence to SLAs
• Collaborating with engineering, operations, and field teams to support network builds and maintenance
• Managing relationships with equipment vendors and contractors
• Developing and enforcing network standards, documentation, and best practices

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Significant experience in optical network engineering, with prior experience managing a team
• Strong hands-on knowledge of DWDM/CWDM, ROADM, and optical transport technologies
• Experience with fiber network design, provisioning, and troubleshooting
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills

Work environment: Full-time, with occasional travel to network sites as needed.
