Job Description
The CV Invasive Specialist performs duties necessary for cardiac catheterization procedures at a technical and professional level requiring some proctoring and supervision of technical detail. The Specialist performs a variety of technical procedures that require some independent judgment. The CV Invasive Specialist assumes responsibility and initiative for designated areas and procedures as required.

Shift DetailsFull-time (40 Hours)
Unit / LocationPlatte Valley Hospital, Brighton, Colorado
Responsibilities- Provides technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures. Provides patient care under the supervision of the RN.
- Assists physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures, acts as scrub assistant, maintaining sterile conditions during clinical procedures; operates imaging equipment and works in the control room monitoring and documenting procedure images and events.
- Educates patients and families regarding the procedure and expectations; teaches pre‑ and post‑procedure physical conditions.
- Assists in maintaining order and cleanliness of the unit; maintains appropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures.
- Completes daily, progress and discharge documentation according to departmental standards; accurately documents productivity information.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Registered ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist (RCIS) within 18 months of hire, or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV Specific certification (required).
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) (required).
- ACLS and Surgical Technologist License with DORA obtained within 3 months of hire in Colorado (required).
- Associate degree (preferred).
- Two (2) years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab (preferred).
- Bachelor’s Degree or RCIS Certification (required).
- Registered ARRT or RCIS required or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV specific certification or RCIS or RCES required.
- Current BLS-HCP and ACLS (required).
- Surgical Technologist License obtained within 3 months from hire date in Colorado (required).
- Four (4) years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab (required).
- Five (5) or more years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab (preferred).
- Continually see and read information, labels, assess patient needs; operate monitors; identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent verbal communication with patient care providers, patients, and visitors, requiring rapid and accurate processing of spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues, especially during emergencies.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use and typing for documentation, medication preparation, etc.
- Lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients; bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment; typical items of varying weights, including heavy items.
- Walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients; push/pull gurneys and portable equipment; navigate crowded/busy rooms with equipment and power cords on the floor.
- Stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
Hourly range: $35.25 – $54.39 (actual hourly rate depends on experience).
