New Graduate Radiology Technologist —
Location:
Platte Valley Hospital. Status:
Part-time (10 hours on Monday or Wednesday) OR PRN. Pay: $29.43 - 32.63/hr depending upon previous Radiology experience.
As a Radiology Technologist, you will support the imaging team to ensure patients receive the best care. You will be part of a team that values career advancement, innovation and collaboration, where your skills are valued and contributions make a lasting impact.
Responsibilities- Produce x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist, ensuring clear and undistorted films. Position and instruct patients regarding x-ray procedures.
- Perform x-ray procedures using portable machines as requested by the Emergency Department and nursing units.
- Process films for radiologists reading/interpretation following established procedures. Communicate with patients, families, healthcare team members, and physicians in person and via telephone.
- Maintain x-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; ensure preventive maintenance is performed on a regularly scheduled basis; contact outside service for major malfunctions according to established guidelines.
- Promote effective working relations and work as part of a department/unit team to facilitate meeting goals and objectives.
- Successful completion of an approved radiological training program
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association
- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent verbal communication with patient care providers, patients, and visitors; ability to hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment; frequent computer use and documentation of patient care, accessing needed information, and medication preparation.
- Ability to lift and transfer patients; bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment; handle items of varying weights.
- Walk, transport/ambulate patients, and obtain and distribute supplies and equipment; push/pull gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items; navigate crowded and busy rooms.
- May be required to stand in a stationary position for extended periods.
