Position: WELDER FABRICATOR

About The Role

The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for assembling, fitting, and welding metal components into finished products and subassemblies according to blueprints and engineering specifications. The role involves operating fabrication equipment, using hand and power tools, and ensuring all work meets quality, dimensional, and safety standards. The position also includes material handling, layout work, and finishing tasks to support efficient production operations in a manufacturing environment.

Salary range $28.22/Hour. Based on experience.

What You’ll Do
  • Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form units or subassemblies using blueprints, jigs, and hand tools.
  • Study engineering drawings and layouts to determine material requirements and sequence of work.
  • Move, lift, and position materials using cranes, hoists, or manual handling methods.
  • Lay out, mark, and verify work pieces using measuring tools such as squares, rulers, and tape measures.
  • Tack‑weld, cut, grind, and prepare metal components to meet specification requirements.
  • Operate fabrication equipment including brakes, shears, rollers, drill presses, grinders, and cutting torches.
  • Straighten, shape, and adjust metal parts using hammers, presses, torches, and other hand tools.
  • Set up and use jigs, fixtures, face blocks, and templates for accurate assembly and fabrication.
  • Remove defects such as high spots and bevel edges using grinding, filing, and cutting tools.
  • Ensure all finished work meets quality and dimensional standards through inspection and adjustment.
Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a skilled welder/fabricator with strong blueprint reading ability, solid measuring skills, and hands‑on experience producing accurate, high‑quality welds and assemblies. The candidate is detail‑oriented, safety‑conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast‑paced production setting.

  • Three (3) years welding/fabrication experience required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to use measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, depth gauges, and fixed gauges.
Working Conditions /

Physical Requirements
  • Perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use.
  • Stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours.
  • Work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently.
  • Work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards.
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors (depending on location).
  • Wear all required PPE, including safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high‑visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
