Job Description The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. Platte Valley Hospital in Brighton is seeking experienced, adaptable Registered Nurses to join our Critical Care Float Pool team. As a Critical Care Float Pool RN, you'll provide essential clinical expertise where it's needed most while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams dedicated to delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care.

As a Critical Care Float Pool RN at Platte Valley Hospital, you'll play a vital role in supporting patient care and staffing needs across critical care and designated acute care settings. Nurses in this position float based on operational needs, patient census, and demonstrated competencies, providing skilled care to patients with complex medical conditions and critical healthcare needs. • Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill and high-acuity patients across multiple units.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Monitor and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, utilizing critical thinking and advanced clinical judgment.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Manage complex patient needs, including advanced monitoring, specialized therapies, and critical care interventions.
• Document patient care accurately and ensure continuity of care across clinical settings.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery expectations, and discharge needs when appropriate.
• Adapt quickly to varying unit workflows, patient populations, and acuity levels.
• Support a culture of teamwork, mentorship, patient safety, and continuous improvement.

• Current RN license in the state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.
• Minimum one (1) year of RN experience in a critical care or acute care setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers.
• BSN is Required. Degree will be verified.
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of hire date.

• Critical Care, ICU, Progressive Care, Emergency Department, or other acute care nursing experience.
• Strong communication, adaptability, and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience caring for diverse patient populations in fast-paced environments.
