Job Description

Electrical Quality Inspector

Position Overview

The Quality Technician - Electrical Inspector serves as a critical stakeholder in Crusoe's manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring that all modular data centers, medium-voltage (MV) power distribution systems, and complex electrical sub-assemblies meet rigid technical specifications, regulatory standards, and corporate quality benchmarks. Operating on a fast-paced production floor, the Quality Technician cross-functionally collaborates with Engineering, Safety, and Production teams to mitigate risk, drive continuous improvement, and safeguard product reliability.

Core Responsibilities

Quality Inspection & Technical Testing

  • Execute End-to-End Testing: Conduct rigorous inspections and hands-on functional testing across a diverse equipment portfolio, ranging from component-level sub-assemblies to fully integrated systems.
  • Component-Level Scope: Verify compliance for enclosures, breaker panels, switchboards, MV switch gear, load centers, HVAC units, surge protection devices, and PLC/control wiring.
  • System-Level Scope: Validate structural and electrical integrity for modular data center units, Power Distribution Centers (PDCs), and electrical houses (E-Houses).
  • Document Technical Outputs: Author comprehensive testing reports and compliance certificates for both component and system-level builds.

Process Auditing & Quality Governance

  • Audit Manufacturing Workflows: Conduct routine process audits of electrical assembly, control wiring, power distribution integration, and final installation methodologies.
  • Standardize Documentation: Own and continuously optimize quality standard operating procedures (SOPs), testing matrixes, and training materials.
  • Enforce Compliance: Verify that all manufacturing execution adheres strictly to approved engineering drawings, schematics, and industry regulations.
  • Manage Non-Conformances: Lead the identification, documentation, and resolution of material non-conformances and engineering deviations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to analyze defects, improve assembly efficiency, and optimize design protocols.
  • Drive Corrective Actions: Proactively identify systemic process gaps and implement robust Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring production bottlenecks.

Required Qualifications

Professional Attributes & Resilience

  • Objective Decision-Making: Ability to maintain strict quality standards and firmly enforce compliance guidelines within high-throughput manufacturing environments.
  • NFPA Compliance Mastery: Demonstrate high-level technical expertise regarding NFPA 70B regulatory frameworks.
  • Analytical Precision: Exceptional detail orientation with a proven track record of identifying micro-level anomalies in complex, macro-level assemblies.
  • Professional Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate technical defects clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and floor leadership.

Technical Expertise

  • Electrical Systems Domain: Robust, hands-on experience with low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) electrical installations, including PDCs, E-houses, and industrial control panels.
  • Regulatory & Industry Standards: Working knowledge of IEC, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and NETA testing specifications.
  • Advanced Components: Familiarity with PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), HMI systems, Motor Control Centers (MCC), and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS).
  • Schematic Literacy: Advanced proficiency in reading, interpreting, and tracing complex electrical schematics, line diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Digital Literacy: Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and standard digital quality logging tools.

Physical Requirements

  • Operational Agility: Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for extended periods on a manufacturing floor, and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Pre-Employment Compliance: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug/alcohol screening in accordance with safety-sensitive role regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

We encourage candidates to apply who meet the majority of the requirements;
Crusoe provides continuous training and professional certification pathways.

  • Experience & Licensure: 4+ years of hands-on electrical experience with a valid Journeyman license, OR 3+ years of dedicated electrical quality inspection experience.
  • Standards Familiarity: Practical experience with UL inspection methodologies or UL listing certification processes.
  • Precision Assemblies: Demonstrated experience with documented industrial torquing procedures and torque specification verification.
  • Quality Methodologies: Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S principles, or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) designation.
  • Systems Infrastructure: Operational…
