Senior Accountant
Location:
Waltham Salary: $90-100K

Following a recent acquisition by a larger industry platform, the company is investing in its finance and accounting function to support continued expansion and operational excellence. - The Position:
Reporting directly to finance leadership, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, operational accounting, and business analysis. This position offers broad exposure across accounting functions and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a growing organization. - The Opportunity:

- Own assigned aspects of the monthly close process, including journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and account analysis.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules, and bank reconciliations.
- Analyze financial results and investigate account fluctuations and variances.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and unusual transactions.
- Review corporate credit card activity and ensure proper coding and documentation.
- Assist with cash forecasting and liquidity reporting.
- Support external audit requests and maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Partner with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams as needed, including collection support.
- Contribute to process improvements, internal controls, and accounting best practices.
- Participate in special projects, financial analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
- Experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
- Proven balance sheet reconciliation and journal entry experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, LOOKUP functions, and large data set analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with project-based, construction, field service, or similar operational environments is a plus.
- ERP experience preferred.
