Athenahealth is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations supporting our healthcare technology business. You will oversee general ledger, monthly close, revenue recognition for SaaS/healthcare contracts, and financial reporting in compliance with GAAP. Partner with FP&A and business leaders to deliver accurate insights, manage audits, and improve internal controls. You will mentor a small team, refine processes, implement automation, and ensure data integrity that enables sound decisions and supports Athenahealth's mission to improve healthcare through technology.
Responsibilities
- Oversee general ledger, monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Manage revenue recognition for Saa
- S and healthcare-related contracts in line with ASC 606
- Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements and supporting schedules
- Partner with FP&A and business leaders to provide accurate financial insights
- Lead and mentor accounting staff, setting priorities and ensuring high-quality work
- Support internal and external audits and maintain robust internal controls
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
- Ensure accounting policies and procedures are documented and adhered to
