This opportunity is with an established general contractor in Brighton, MI hiring a Project Engineer to start immediately. The team operates with a strong internal culture built on humble confidence, honesty and integrity, respect, and a problem-solving mindset. The Project Engineer provides technical support to the Project and Pre-Construction Managers and plays a key role in day to day project execution.
What You'll Do
- Represent the company professionally on every project
- Work collaboratively with engineers, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Participate in meetings and contribute to project planning
- Assist with permitting, including coordination with municipal authorities
- Organize shop drawings, submittals, and project drawings
- Support cost tracking and budget forecasting throughout the project
- Assist with bid solicitations, evaluations, and final selection of subcontractors and suppliers
- Maintain the subcontractor database, insurance compliance, and historical estimating data
- Prepare and issue subcontractor purchase and change orders
- Prepare meeting minutes and manage project documentation and file control
- Provide technical support across Operations, Pre-Construction, and Leadership teams
- Help build and maintain company culture across the team
What You Bring
- Prior experience in a Project Engineer or similar construction support role
- Highly motivated, reliable, and detail oriented, with strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask across cost tracking, permitting, and documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication with solid interpersonal skills
- A problem-solving mindset, comfortable giving and receiving direction
