Charyl Stockwell Academy (CSA) District is a public school academy that serves approximately 1,250 students from Kindergarten through high school. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Language Arts Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching literature, writing, and language skills to middle school students. This individual will create a stimulating classroom environment, encourage student engagement and participation, and foster a love for reading and writing.
Responsibilities- Teach a diverse curriculum that includes literature, composition, grammar, and language usage while considering varied learning styles and needs.
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Develop assessments and monitor student performance through tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
- Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students.
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Supervision of multiple students at once

- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Occasionally lift/move objects weighing up to 25 lbs
- Stand and walk frequently
- Occasionally sit on the floor or bend down/squat
- Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year
- Withstand a moderate noise level
- Be able to perform first aid/CPR if necessary
- Assist/lift students, as necessary
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
- Passion for literature and the ability to inspire students to develop their writing and analytical skills.
