Job SummaryWe are seeking a passionate and dedicated Spanish Teacher to inspire students through engaging lessons and a dynamic learning environment while fostering a love for the Spanish language and culture. The Spanish Teacher will develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum, assess student progress, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver high‑quality Spanish language instruction to students.
- Incorporate cultural activities and resources to enhance language learning and promote appreciation of Spanish‑speaking cultures.
- Create comprehensive lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Develop assessments and monitor student performance through tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
- Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to support the institution’s mission.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students.
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Supervise multiple students simultaneously.
- Establish routines and procedures.
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment.
- Create and implement instructional plans.
- Participate in continuous professional development.
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
- Occasionally lift/move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Stand and walk frequently.
- Occasionally sit on the floor or bend down/squat.
- Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year.
- Withstand a moderate noise level.
- Be able to perform first aid/CPR if necessary.
- Assist/lift students as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish, Linguistics, or a related field; master’s degree is a plus.
- Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
