Hoffmann Filter Corporation, a leading manufacturer of industrial coolant filtration systems, is currently recruiting an Electrical Field Service Engineer to help deliver exceptional customer service and support across our industrial client base.
Primary Responsibilities- Install and commission Hoffmann Filtration systems at customer sites.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PLC-based control systems via email, video conferencing, phone calls, and on‑site visits.
- Debug and modify PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and other control components as needed. Experience with programming is a bonus;
Siemens experience strongly preferred. - Conduct in‑house testing and run‑off of machines, including power connections, program uploads, hose connections, and filter charging.
- Identify and correct malfunctioning installation components using test equipment and specialty tools.
- Follow Hoffmann and customer‑driven safety procedures and protocols.
- Prepare for on‑site work by reviewing building layouts, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating with customers and end users.
- Maintain a professional presence on‑site while building a positive relationship with each customer.
- Collaborate with engineers to improve serviceability and maintainability of filtration systems.
- Document work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining customer/job files.
- Produce timely and detailed service reports.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Associate degree (2 years) or equivalent from an accredited college, trade, or technical school in Industrial Automation or a related field.
- Five (5) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical schematics, flow diagrams, pneumatic and electronic control systems, pipe fitting, welding/brazing, and basic mechanical skills.
- Knowledge of Siemens S7 and/or PLC controls programming preferred.
- Experience with control panels and wiring of industrial systems.
- Travel up to 75% of the time.
- Experience with debugging and commissioning PLCs and HMIs.
- Experience with industrial controls and the ability to troubleshoot expected operation of controls and automation.
- Availability for after‑hours or on‑call weekend work on a rotational basis.
