Logistics Specialist
Location:
Brighton, MI
Pay Rate: $22 - $26 an hour
A highly reputable organization is seeking a Logistics Specialist to join their team! This role consists of various duties and responsibilities including but not limited to acting as the key point of contact between internal teams, customers, and logistics partners, with a strong focus on shipment coordination, compliance, system accuracy, and customer communication, and much more!
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate outbound shipments to ensure on-time delivery in alignment with customer and production requirements.
+ Serve as the primary liaison between carriers, customers, internal manufacturing teams, and account teams.
+ Coordinate LTL, parcel, and expedited shipments as needed.
+ Obtain freight rate quotes, coordinate carrier selection, and calculate freight charges and customer upcharges.
+ Prepare, audit, and maintain shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and export paperwork.
+ Process and reconcile shipping invoices, ensuring accuracy against customer purchase orders, quotes, and sales orders.
+ Enter invoices into customer portals and internal ERP systems as required.
+ Maintain organized shipment files and ensure audit-ready documentation.
+ Reconcile monthly freight reports and file freight claims when necessary.
+ Maintain required export documentation, including NAFTA certificates and customs paperwork.
+ Enter and maintain shipment data within ERP systems (e.g., Sage / SAP).
+ Maintain open and closed sales order records, ensuring accuracy throughout the shipment lifecycle.
+ Create and maintain logs such as late delivery reports, manual shipment logs, and daily invoicing summaries.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of experience in logistics, order processing, or a related administrative role.
+ Proficiency in data entry and logistics coordination.
+ Experience working with ERP/CRM systems, specifically Sage.
+ Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook and Excel.
+ Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Work Environment
This position requires working on-site from Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The role involves sitting at a desk for extended periods. You will be part of a friendly environment with a well-tenured team, offering a contract-to-hire opportunity for six months.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brighton, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
