Minimum rate of pay: $35.64 PLUS Daily PAY

The Short Stay Unit is an 18 bed post-surgical and inpatient observation unit caring for patients who need a short period of hospital-level care—typically less than 36 hours. The team manages patients recovering from procedures, monitoring for condition changes, coordinating tests and consults, and preparing patients for timely discharge.

7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Night shift

Contingent - Includes Weekends and Holiday coverage

Graduation from a school of nursing that results in the ability of the graduate to sit for the NCLEX exam to become licensed as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.

• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• BLS.
• ACLS required for the following departments:
  Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency.

Experienced Canadian Registered Nurses are encouraged to apply.

• Graduation from accredited nursing program.
• Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.
• Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age specific needs.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of job description.
• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care.

• Gather and analyze patient information.
• Develop, implement, evaluate and revise an individualized plan of care.
• Use teach‑back methodology to educate patient and family.
• Actively seek to prevent potential hospital acquired complications.
• Effectively communicate patient status, priority goals and interventions during consultations, rounds and handoffs.
• Follow all HIPAA policies and procedures.
