Registered Nurse RN Short Stay

Position Overview

Employment Type:

Part time. Shift: 12‑hour night shift (Monday‑Thursday, 2 shifts). Department:
Short Stay Unit, Livingston – New Hospital Brighton. Minimum Rate of Pay: $35.64 plus Daily Pay.

• Gather and analyze patient information.
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized plans of care.
• Use teach‑back methodology to educate patients and families.
• Actively seek to prevent potential hospital‑acquired conditions.
• Effectively communicate patient status, priority goals, and interventions during consultations, rounds, and handoffs.
• Follow all HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Behave in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of St. Joseph Mercy Hospitals.

• Education:
  
  Graduation from a nursing school that qualifies the graduate to sit for the NCLEX and become licensed as an RN. BSN preferred.
• Licensure:
  Current State of Michigan RN license. BLS. ACLS required for Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency.
• Experience:
  
  Experience preferred. Canadian registered nurses encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge:
  Nursing theory, practice, and age‑specific needs.
• Skills:
  
  Interpersonal skills for collegial relationships, therapeutic relationships with patients/families, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
