A mid-size precision machining company is seeking a motivated and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to drive growth and expand customer relationships. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and increasing revenue within industries such as heavy duty trucking, automotive, industrial, and OEM manufacturing. The ideal candidate has experience in contract manufacturing or industrial sales, along with strong relationship-building and technical communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective customers in alignment with company growth initiatives
- Generate and follow up on sales leads, RFQs, and customer inquiries
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within target markets
- Collaborate with engineering, estimating, quality, and operations to develop competitive quotations and solutions
- Conduct customer visits, plant tours, trade show participation, and networking activities
- Assist in development of strategic sales plans to meet company growth objectives
- Maintain CRM records, sales forecasts, and pipeline reporting
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term agreements
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments
- Work closely with leadership to align sales goals with operational capabilities
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in outside sales, business development, or a related role.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers.
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and results-oriented mindset.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in the relevant industry or market.
- Established network of business contacts.
- Demonstrated history of exceeding sales quotas.
