Hoffmann Filter Corporation, a leading manufacturer of industrial coolant filtration systems, is currently recruiting for an Electrical Field Service Engineer to help our company deliver the top‑notch customer service we have staked our reputation on. Primary Responsibilities- Install and commission Hoffmann Filtration systems at customer sites.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PLC‑based control systems to identify and resolve issues via email, video conferencing, phone calls, and on‑site visits as required.
- Debug and modify PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and other control components as needed. Ability to write programs is a bonus. Siemens experience strongly preferred.
- In‑house testing and run‑off of machines, including connection of power, uploading of program, connection of hoses, and charging filter with liquid.
- Identify and correct malfunctioning installation and/or components using test equipment and specialty tools.
- Follow both Hoffmann and customer‑driven safety procedures and protocols.
- Prepare for on‑site installation and repairs by examining building layouts, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating on‑site work as necessary with customers and end users.
- Maintain a professional presence on‑site while building a positive relationship with each customer.
- Work with engineers to improve serviceability and maintainability of filtration systems.
- Document work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining customer/job files.
- Produce timely and detailed service reports.
- Other duties as required.
- Two (2) year associate degree or equivalent from an accredited college, trade, or technical school in industrial automation or related field.
- 5 years +/- related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have knowledge of electrical and mechanical schematics, flow diagrams, pneumatic and electronic control systems, pipe fitting, welding/brazing, and basic mechanical skills.
- Knowledge of Siemens S7 and/or PLC controls programming preferred.
- Experience with control panels and wiring of industrial systems.
- Travel up to 75% of the time.
- Experience with debugging and commissioning PLCs and HMIs.
- Experience with industrial controls and ability to troubleshoot expected operation of controls and automation.
- Must be available for after‑hours or on‑call weekend work on a rotational basis.
$70,000 - $100,000 Hourly Wage
