Position Description

The primary function of the Towing Dispatcher is to receive and dispatch emergency and routine calls for towing, roadside service, recovery and transportation. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Towing Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

* Dispatch drivers.

* Maintain and confirm schedules.

* Collect and maintain paperwork.

* Oversee on-time dispatch requirements.

* Work with local and State law enforcement agencies to ensure that they have everything they need.

* Track driver pickups throughout the workday.

* Ensure paperwork is complete prior to dispatch and upon return.

* Follow up to ensure accurate communication with internal and external staff members.

* Anticipate potential problems and create contingency plans.

* Able to multitask in a loud, fast paced, high call volume environment with frequent interruptions.

* Able to learn software for data entry and reports and follow instruction.

* Follows company quality, safety and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies.

* Able to effectively perform responsibilities under a high level of stress.

* Regular interaction with peers on-site, including face-to-face meetings and spontaneous conferences.

* Must be flexible and available to work afternoons and weekends.

* Good interpersonal and communication skills with a calm demeanor towards customers and co-workers.

* Regular and reliable attendance and presence at work.

* Operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

* Perform any duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications/Experience/

Education:

* High School graduate or equivalent required.

* 2+ years of dispatch experience preferred.

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, for data entry.

* Must have attention to detail, planning and organizational skills.

* Strong communication skills - verbal and written.

* Proficient in GPS tracking programs.

* Good knowledge of vehicles and local geography.

* Able to pass 7-year criminal background check.
