A $500M General Contractor Operating across the New England and Tri-state region heavy civil construction market are seeking a Lead Superintendent for their heavy highway and bridge operations in Connecticut.
Brief responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise day-to-day field operations and construction activities
- Direct and coordinate General Superintendents, Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, and field crews
- Plan manpower, equipment, materials, sequencing, and daily production
- Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to project specifications
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Owners, and subcontractors
- Review plans, specifications, schedules, and work plans to identify issues before construction
- Monitor project progress, productivity, quality, and schedule milestones
- Conduct daily/weekly coordination and production meetings
- Resolve field conflicts, constructability issues, and scheduling challenges
- Enforce company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and site-specific safety plans
- Oversee quality control and ensure work meets contract requirements
- Track equipment, materials, labor, and subcontractor performance
- Assist with change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, inspectors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and accountability to field personnel

Requirements;
- 10+ years of heavy civil construction management experience
- Strong background in highways, bridges, utilities, earthwork, concrete, or site development
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, sequencing, and scheduling
- Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors simultaneously
- Strong understanding of OSHA and project-specific safety requirements
- Proven ability to manage manpower, equipment, materials, and production
- Experience working with DOT, municipal, or other public infrastructure projects preferred
- Experience with project schedules, daily reports, RFIs, change orders, and quality control
- Willingness to travel to active project sites as required
- OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
