Construction Manager/ Foreman, Site Manager, Building & Residential Construction
Location: Fairfield County, Connecticut
Salary: up to $180K base + benefits
Please note: Must have ground-up construction experience
I’m currently working with a growing construction team looking to bring on a Superintendent with strong Multifamily construction experience, specifically someone with a solid understanding of ground-up construction.
This is a field leadership role for someone who can take ownership of the day-to-day operation of a project, lead subcontractors effectively, and keep the job moving safely, efficiently and on schedule.
The RoleYou’ll be responsible for the overall field operations of your assigned project, including:
- Providing day-to-day leadership to the field team, subcontractors and trade partners
- Managing all phases of construction from mobilization through completion and turnover
- Developing and maintaining short-term/look-ahead schedules and ensuring work stays aligned with the overall project schedule
- Managing subcontractor sequencing and coordinating multiple trades to ensure the project progresses efficiently
- Planning and managing site logistics, including material deliveries, storage, staging, personnel movement and site access
- Coordinating concrete operations and ensuring work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications and project requirements
- Reviewing plans, drawings and specifications and ensuring work in the field is being executed correctly
- Monitoring subcontractor productivity, quality, manpower and progress against schedule
- Leading daily and weekly subcontractor coordination meetings and communicating upcoming activities and expectations
- Coordinating inspections and working closely with inspectors, subcontractors, project management and other project stakeholders
- Maintaining accurate daily reports covering site activity, manpower, deliveries, weather, safety and overall project progress
- Identifying potential schedule or field issues early and working with the project team to resolve them
- Ensuring materials are ordered, delivered, received, inspected, stored and available when required
- Maintaining a strong focus on site safety, quality control and housekeeping throughout the project
- Ensuring construction is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, building codes and quality standards
- Building strong working relationships with subcontractors, inspectors, clients and internal project teams
- Leading and motivating subcontractors and field personnel to achieve project milestones and completion dates
- Multifamily construction experience
- Strong understanding of concrete deck construction
- Proven experience managing subcontractors and field operations
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods across multiple phases of a project
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications
- Experience managing schedules, sequencing and short-term look-ahead planning
- Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to identify problems in the field and drive solutions
- 8+ years of construction supervision experience preferred
