Position Title
SITE ASSISTANT – 21ST CENTURY AFTERSCHOOL PAL PROGRAM
LocationHubbell Elementary School
Reports ToDirector of Teaching and Learning
SummaryTo support and supervise school based sites and programming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Take and input daily attendance and food service data
- Supervise school-based site and programming daily
- Attend monthly meetings and contribute to the monthly newsletter
- Ensure all students are picked up daily following BPS policy and procedures
- Serve as a positive role model and advocate for students in the PAL program
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred; experience in an educational setting or currently taking educational‑related coursework. - Skills:
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with software; familiarity with accounting software. - Language
Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public. - Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. - Computer
Skills:
Familiarity with standard hardware and software applications; ability to use computer for e‑mail, word processing, accounting, spreadsheet analysis, databases and presentations. - Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. - Other
Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency with microcomputer applications and office supervisory experience required; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the school community; ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication; ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
