School Psychologist (26-27 Sy)
Provide strong consultation and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams regarding behavior, social and emotional and academic learning, evaluation and social skills. Strong crisis intervention and response planning skills with strong knowledge of diverse assessment skills to address the needs of learners.
Essential duties and responsibilities include conducting comprehensive student evaluations, providing therapeutic services, administering tests, maintaining case records, recommending behavioral and instructional interventions, designing and implementing individualized educational programs, conducting functional behavioral assessments, conferring with teachers, parents, and administrators, attending relevant meetings, serving as a consultant on cognitive, mental health and trauma related topics, interpreting school psychological evaluations, preparing required reports, managing cases, collaborating with community agencies, fulfilling supervisory responsibilities, maintaining professional competence, and serving on committees.
Qualification requirements include a 6th year certificate or equivalent, a valid Connecticut teaching certificate, ability to read, analyze and interpret various documents, ability to write reports and correspondence, mathematical skills, basic computer skills, problem-solving abilities, knowledge of research and teaching competencies, planning and implementation skills, effective communication skills, awareness of district requirements and policies, physical demands, and the ability to work in a moderate to loud noise environment.
