Vessel Operator, Chemicals – Connecticut

Dynamic chemical tanker operator with a stellar team of professionals seeks a Vessel Operator to bring on board. This group has a unique business market and they have enjoyed much success in the recent years. They have a great commercial team and are looking to immediately add to the group.

• Manage vessel voyages in spot or chartered capacity while ensuring compliance with SMS/risk management
• Maximize optimal transit plans/speed and review charter parties to give instructions to vessel
• Arrange port and bunker services
• Work closely with chartering, demurrage and accounting departments
• All other duties as assigned by Operations Manager

• Maritime Academy Graduate preferred
• 2+ years commercial tanker experience (shore side or at sea), chemical experience strongly preferred
• Excellent communicator – written and verbal
• Works well in a team environment
• Multi-tasker, must be able to thrive in constant changing environment
• Must be currently authorized to work in the US, no visa or sponsorship at this time
