Sales Engineer
• Spend the majority of time in front of customers influencing component selection
• Champion return on engineering investment using customer needs and technical leadership expertise
• Manage supplier and customer expectations and develop stakeholder relationships
• Grow the account base each quarter
• Drive demand creation by maximizing Arrow content on designs
• Leverage Arrow engineering and design services to facilitate customer solutions
• Apply technical knowledge to influence designs through solution selling, resources, and strategies
• Identify solutions and resolutions to customer design needs and issues
• Monitor performance metrics and take corrective action to meet or exceed targets
• Present technical seminars and workshops around supplier lines
• Provide frequent updates to the field sales team and motivate activity around supplier lines
• Partner with sales across pre- and post-sales activities, providing technical support and consulting
• Conduct technical calibrations and research with sales, Arrow departments, and suppliers
• Obtain sales buy-in for design win priorities, initiatives, and promotions
• Attend and participate in strategic branch meetings and QBRs
• Develop and drive strategic technical plans by supplier line or customer solution
• Participate in ArrowEDGE initiatives through branch training and customer calls
• Organize engineering customer events
• Meet with suppliers to review customer design activity and identify compelling solutions
• Attend supplier trainings in person and via conference calls
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge and experience with system/board/engineering solutions and electronic components
- Breadth of knowledge of electronic components
- Experience with design engineering
- Ability to solve complex problems using existing solutions from a new perspective
- Independent worker; receives minimal guidance
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
- Stays up-to-date on supplier products and Arrow design services
- Intermediate-to-advanced experience using Excel and Power Point
- Ability to become competent with CRM and BI tools such as Oracle, Salesforce, and Microsoft Power BI
- Typically requires a 4-year degree, electrical engineering strongly preferred, and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience
