Finance Manager Bristol, CT Salary: $115, This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced healthcare finance leader to oversee financial operations for a respected hospital and healthcare organization. The Finance Manager will lead the finance team, drive accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and support the organization’s accounting, budgeting, compliance, and regulatory initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required;
Master’s degree preferred. - CPA strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years within a healthcare organization preferred.
- 3+ years of supervisory or management experience leading finance/accounting teams.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and healthcare finance operations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to manage complex financial data and business processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the finance team, providing direction, mentorship, and support to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial activities.
- Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparation of internal and consolidated financial statements.
- Oversee general ledger activity, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, leases, debt schedules, and financial reporting processes.
- Develop, implement, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Support annual regulatory and tax reporting requirements, including healthcare cost reports, OHCA filings, Form 990 preparation, and other financial submissions.
- Monitor changes in accounting standards and ensure compliance with applicable GAAP requirements and organizational policies.
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to support budgeting, financial planning, and strategic initiatives.
- Foster the professional growth and development of the finance team through coaching, feedback, and continuous improvement initiatives.
