Role Summary

Lake Compounce is seeking a Seasonal EMT Supervisor to assist the HSE Manager in coordinating park safety and EMS response, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and company policies.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the daily operations of the EMT, First Aid, and Safety teams, and any other assigned departments.
  • Lead by example, embodying Lake Compounce’s core values and serving as an approachable mentor and coach.
  • Become knowledgeable of the essential duties of all EMT positions and backfill these positions when needed.
  • Participate in all aspects of supervision, including training, performance coaching, discipline, and scheduling.
  • Verify that all required meal and break times comply with Connecticut law.
  • Maintain the Total Safety culture, SOPs, and local protocols.
  • Assist with accident investigations of guest and employee incidents and maintain accurate, confidential First Aid, Injury & HSE files.
  • Provide quality patient care and emergency medical treatment in the pre‑hospital setting per state scope of practice and Medical Director‑approved protocols.
  • Respond to emergency and non‑emergency calls, determine the nature of illness or injury, administer treatment, and document all patient care.
  • Ensure EMS call and treatment documentation is sent to the appropriate receiving hospital and coordinate with other healthcare hosts for continuity of care.
  • Assist with routine maintenance, inventory, cleanliness, and readiness of the First Aid Office; inspect equipment and keep the office organized.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well‑stocked environment, complying with safety and infection control procedures.
  • Maintain composure under high pressure, delegate as necessary, and maintain communication with park management.
  • Assist in maintaining OSHA compliance and documentation in all related areas.
  • Oversee inspections at various park sites to verify compliance with park safety standards.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • 1–2 years of field ambulance and/or hospital experience in an emergency care setting.
  • Current EMT certification/License in the state of Connecticut.
  • Current CPR certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Thorough knowledge of current EMT standards of care, equipment use, and rescue principles.
  • Ability to handle blood borne and/or airborne pathogens, operate emergency vehicles, and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Exceptional composure in high‑stress environments, analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and initiative.
  • Ability to perform invasive advanced medical procedures as per level of certification.
  • Proficiency in filing reports using computer and EMS software and handling confidential information.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders.
  • Remain on feet for the majority of the workday.
  • Carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or more.
  • Lift patients of varying weights and sizes.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to stressful emergency situations involving people or property.
  • Variable outdoor temperatures, high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions.
  • Constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, vibrations, and heavily populated environments.
