Overview
The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking Residential Cleaning and Direct Care Staff to join our Community Transitional Living Program (CTLP) in Hartford, CT. Our residential direct care staff establish life‑changing relationships with our clients and provide opportunities to optimize their independence, rehabilitation, and recovery.
Responsibilities- Clean and maintain client apartments, including kitchens, bathrooms, living areas, and bedrooms.
- Model cleaning routines and encourage clients to be self‑sufficient.
- Assist clients with guidance and organization.
- Clean common areas, stairwells, and hallways.
- Provide direct care support such as:
- Supporting activities of daily living.
- Providing opportunities to optimize independence, rehabilitation, and recovery.
- Developing professional, supportive relationships and offering informal counseling with a person‑centered focus.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Registered and insured vehicle available for work purposes.
- Approved criminal background and driving check.
- Experience working with psychiatric disorders or a co‑occurring population (preferred).
- Experience in social work and cleaning highly preferred.
Part‑time, 20 hours per week. Preferred schedule 5:00 pm–9:00 pm, Monday–Thursday. Some flexibility is available based on candidate availability.
Compensation & BenefitsPay rate is $21.00 per hour. Benefits include dental, health, and life insurance, paid time off, earned vacation, and paid holidays.
