Network / Infrastructure Technician (Datacenter/MDF/IDF)

Duration: 6 months with potential extension.
Shift
:
Tuesday‑Saturday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Starts 20 hrs/week (trial), may ramp to 40 hrs/week based on performance. Work performed on‑site at client facilities or data centers.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills (English)
• Patching – Copper (Cat 5e/Cat 6) – tracing, patching, troubleshooting at patch panels, devices, and stations
• Patching – Fiber – tracing, patching, troubleshooting fiber; experience dressing and cleaning fiber cabling; knowledge of fiber connectors
• Cable Management
• Infrastructure Repair – using a 4‑pair test set or Fluke; terminating copper cables; familiarity with 110 / 66 blocks
• Server & Storage – assess alerts, replace hot‑swappable disks, power supplies, and other field‑serviceable components; basic RAID understanding
• Network – console access and basic CLI diagnostics
• Rack & Stack – cabinets, racks, rail depth, installation hardware; secure and cable‑manage rack‑mounted devices

• Smart‑phone capable of mobile email and web browsing
• Multi‑screwdriver set
• 110 / 66 impact‑punch‑down tool

• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Professional conduct at all times
• Detail orientation in active production environments
• Timely updates to web‑based ticketing portal
• Associate degree or comparable technical certificates
• 2 + years of experience

• Familiarity with POTS and circuits (T1, DS3)
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle

$30.00 – $35.00 per hour; no benefits.
