Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled CIS Storage VMware Consultant to join the CIS Storage VMware Consulting POD. The resource will be responsible for designing, implementing, administering, and optimizing enterprise storage and virtualization environments. The role requires expertise in VMware virtualization platforms, storage technologies, infrastructure modernization, performance optimization, and technical consulting. The consultant will work closely with customers, architects, project managers, and operations teams to deliver robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• VMware Administration Consulting
• Design, deploy, and manage VMware vSphere environments
• Administer ESXi hosts, vCenter Server clusters, HA, DRS, and vMotion
• Perform capacity planning and virtualization optimization
• Execute VMware upgrades, migrations, and patch management activities
• Support VMware-based disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
• Troubleshoot complex virtualization-related issues
• Storage Administration Consulting
• Manage enterprise storage platforms such as Dell EMC, Net App, Pure Storage, HPE, IBM, or equivalent
• Provision storage resources including LUNs, volumes, snapshots, and replication
• Administer SAN and NAS environments
• Monitor storage performance and implement optimization strategies
• Support storage migration and infrastructure transformation projects
• Ensure storage availability, reliability, and data protection compliance
• Infrastructure Consulting
• Assess customer infrastructure environments and recommend best practices
• Create HLD, LLD, implementation plans, and technical documentation
• Participate in architecture reviews and solution design workshops
• Provide technology recommendations aligned with business requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure modernization initiatives

Operational Support:

• Handle Incident, Problem, and Change Management activities
• Provide L2L3 infrastructure support
• Maintain SLA adherence and service quality standards
• Perform root cause analysis for critical issues

Required Technical

Skills:

• VMware Technologies: VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter Server, VMware HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, VMware SRM, vSAN
• Preferred Storage Technologies: SAN/NAS Administration, Fibre Channel Storage, Storage Replication, Storage Provisioning, Backup Recovery Solutions
• Operating Systems:
  Windows Server, Linux (RHEL, SUSE, Ubuntu)
• Monitoring Automation: VMware Aria Operations vROps, Solar Winds, vRealize Suite, Power Shell, VMware PowerCLI

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Relevant certifications preferred: VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Certified Application Professional (VCAP)
• Preferred Dell EMC, Net App, HPE Storage Certifications
• ITIL Foundation
